Let me start by saying I love taking part in expert mocks where you get to display your research, knowledge of team needs and ability to read the draft. That is, except when the team you are assigned is the Oakland Raiders and it all goes out the window. With the Raiders it is all about measureables, upside and raw talent. To get into the mood, you feel like you need to put back a few cold ones. All kidding aside, Al Davis and the Raiders have a hard earned reputation for over-reaching on raw talent but they do pay a degree of attention to need. When you look at the Raiders you see needs at QB, WR, OT, DE, and DT. Jimmy Clausen (QB), Dez Bryant (WR), Derrick Morgan (DE), Brian Price (DT) and Dan Williams (DT) do not qualify as physical freaks (good players but not high upside raw talents - i.e. too polished). This leads us to defensive end Carlos Dunlap and offensive tackles Anthony Davis and Bruce Campbell). Head Coach Tom Cable does not carry much sway in the draft room but after the former offensive line coach might finally get Al to give him a left tackle (he uses the argument that JaMarcus needs a lot of time for his stone hands receivers to run vertical patterns). Campbell is the physical freak who should light up the combine (very tempting) but Anthony Davis is the raw talent whom many say has the most upside of the tackles in the draft. It does not hurt that he moves remarkably well for a 325 pounder. Add in some weight and conditioning concerns and we have a winner. My only concern is drafting a left tackle makes to much sense (then again so did drafting a wide receiver and a quarterback). Thanks, Chris Maier nfldraft101.com

OT's aren't fast![]()
I have Campbell in for the Raiders as I think he fits their tendency to take the big athlete type players instead of the polished player. But now that the draft is a day away, I really think Campbell ends up dropping much further into the late first round.
A DE end like Morgan makes sense here, an OL would too other than Campbell.
I'll say Kyle Wilson, he's fast and plays a position nobody is looking for the Raiders to draft in. They always throw a wrench in everything you'll see![]()
