Depends on the plan of attack this year as far as free agents go. Last year I thought there were a few guys they could've/should've gone after, and they didn't (of course).
What they need...well...what don't they need???
Off the top of my head, major needs are:
1. Offensive line (protect that QB)
2. Safety
3. D-line (although I really don't want them going this route via draft, at least not round 1)
4. Linebacker
5. WR
6. TE
So yeah...pretty much everything.
Key to me is protecting the QB though, and helping Charles bust loose for more big runs, so I think go O-line in round 1. If they can get a franchise left tackle, they can move Albert to either right tackle or his natural guard position.
I'd like to see them address WR in earlier rounds this year as well, and bolster the D with a solid LB and a safety.
If they can shore up those key positions, it will make a difference.
Again - depends on what they plan on doing in free agency, as I'm sure they can address a couple of key needs by going that route.
Do the Chiefs have a battle cry or a Viking chant or any sort of huge group effort to show there excitement for something? Well if there is many of us may not have been around for anything like that but finally there is a day for it. A much needed Offensive lineman has landed In the lap of the Chiefs now this is not just any Offensive Tackle this is THE offensive tackle in the draft. I was honestly surprised that he slide to 5 and if this does happen come draft day I do not think the Chiefs brass will wait too long to make the selection.
Adding Okung will give Cassell much more time in the pocket to bring to the organization the tools he was brought for. Adding the offensive tackle will open up the running game and the passing game and is one of the pieces that will take the Chiefs to the next level.
